Ghana captain Andre Ayew scored again as Swansea City climbed back into the Championship play-off places as they beat 10-man Luton Town 2-0 at the Liberty stadium.
The talismanic attacker, who has been in superb form this season, was involved in the first goal for his side, who were keen to bounce back from their disappointing midweek defeat to Middlesborough.
The homes side scored from the first attack of the game as Ayew together with teammates Korey Smith and Liam Cullen engaged in a sharp passing move. Connor Roberts’ subsequent left-footed shot sailed into the Luton net with the help of a huge deflection.
Despite a Luton assault on the Swansea defense, the Welsh side just did enough to hold on to their lead before Ayew struck to give the hosts a cushioning.
The Swansea’s top scorer and attacking talisman, collected possession from Kasey Palmer and rifled a fierce shot into the bottom corner of the net from 20 yards inside 89 minutes of play.
Andre Ayew was replaced by Viktor Gyokeres in the 90th minute as his goal helped seal a third win in five for Swansea who are now 4th on the league log with 29 points.
