Newly appointed Head Coach of Legon Cities FC Bashir Hayford has taken charge of the his first training session on Monday.
The experienced gaffer was recently appointed as replacement for expatriate Coach Goran Bajaktarevic. Coach Goran was axed following a very dismal start to the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season; where the club picked up just a point from a possible 6.
There was high hopes for the big spending Legon Cities after a huge outlay during the transfer window. The likes of Asamoah Gyan, Jonah Attuquaye, Nicholas Gyan, Nicholas Opoku and other player were recruited in a bid to put the club in the fray for challenging for top honors in the new season.
Bashir Hayford with his experience in the local terrain is expected to steer the club back on track and prevent a scenario where the club will have to suffer throughout the campaign.
The two-time league winner with Asante Kotoko and AshGold has and over 20 year coaching experience in the local top flight and was seen already involved in the thick of affairs from the club’s training grounds.
