Elmina Sharks Coach Yaw Acheampong has lamented the ‘cheap’ goal his side conceded against WAFA in their Ghana Premier LEague Match Week 3 encounter.
The Academy Boys hosted Sharks at the Red Bull Arena, Sogakope on Sunday but found themselves behind in the first half when a deflected shot from striker Justice Ato Mensah gave the away side the lead.
After persistent pressure and forward moves, WAFA found an equalizer courtesy Augustine Aboagye who profited from a second chance after Daniel Lomotey’s shot had cannoned off the cross bar.
Coach Yaw Acheampong speaking after the game from pitch side was not too pleased about the way his side conceded the equalizer.
“The goal that came…I wasn’t happy with the goal. We were able to take our chances but we give them a very cheap goal and they equalized,” Yaw Acheampong lamented.
Despite expressing his displeasure at the goal conceded, YAw Acheampong expressed satisfaction at picking a point against WAFA.
“But the game itself; it was a 50-50 game, so I am okay with the result,” he said.
Sharks are unbeaten after 3 matches so far in the season but remain without a win. They next play Aduana Stars at home on Match Week 4.
