WAFA SC and Elmina Sharks canceled each other out in a Ghana Premier League Match Week 3 clash played at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena on Sunday.
Sharks visited the Academy Boy searching for their first win of the campaign but found their first major task defending against a WAFA side pushing forward in numbers.
Sharks goalkeeper Lord Bawa Martey was the busiest among the visitors as he pulled up decent saves to prevent the home side from taking the lead.
It was the visitors who drew first blood when after 41 minutes Justice Ato Mensah gave them the lead.
The former Ebusua Dwarfs attacker hit a shot which took a wicked deflection and Deceived WAFA Goalie Sabi Acquah who had already committed himself towards a different direction.
WAFA pushed upfront in search of an equalizer but it proved futile as the first half ended with Sharks leading.
Back from recess, Sharks began a defensive approach trying to protect their goal.
Their resolve was however broken when a WAFA attack led to striker Daniel Lomotey hitting the bar.
The striker in a composed manner cut back the rebound for Augustine Aboagye who finished to restore parity for WAFA.
The game will see more action but with both teams failing to score against, the scoreline stayed at 1-1 after 90 minutes.
WAFA with this result have 4 points and now occupy the 5th position.
Elmina Sharks albeit unbeaten also remain without a win and have 3 points from their first 3 games.
