Asamoah Gyan has expressed delight after making his first Ghana Premier League appearance in 17 years.
The legendary Ghanaian footballer had a 20 minutes stint for Legon Cities as they drew goalless at home to Medeama SC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The 35 year old joined the Royals on a free in October after fruitful negotiations. He had since been unable to feature as he was been readied for full match action.
He finally made his entry into a league game for the first time since 2003 after being subbed on in the 70th minute for midfielder Raphael Ocloo.
The player’s quality was telling as he made an impact although it didn’t translate to a win for his side.
Gyan took to Twitter to share his feelings after this memorable occasion.
