AshantiGold SC Head Coach Milovan Cerkovic remains positive about his side’s chances in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season despite a winless start to the campaign.
The Serbian trainer took charge of the team just few weeks to the start of the season and has taken little time to settle and understand the team and the Ghanaian football terrain.
The Obuasi-based club lost several key players to rival clubs with enterprising center back Yusif Mubarik and influential midfielder Latif Anabila joining Asante Kotoko.
First choice goalkeeper Frank Boateng also joined Medeama SC, while the likes of James Akaminko, Shafiu Mumuni and Eric Donkor have all left.
Coach Cerkovic has overseen two league matches so far; 2-2 draws against Karela United and Hearts of Oak.
Even without a win as things stand, an upbeat Cerkovic has predicted his team will have an incredible season.
“I saw today we can play, we can make a very good team. I saw my players…I saw them more better than before. Now I believe my team, we can make very good team,” Milovan Cerkovic noted during a post match interview.
Aside competing for honors in the local competitions, The Miners will also compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
