Asante Kotoko Head Coach Maxwell Konadu has pleaded with the club’s medical team to expeditiously treat injured players so they can return in time for their upcoming CAF Champions League clash.
The Porcupine Warriors face a daunting trip to Mauritania to face FC Nouadhibou on Friday November 27. The game is the first of two legs in the CAF Champions League Preliminary qualifier with Kotoko hosting the return encounter later.
Ahead of the game, the Porcupine Warriors have an injury list that includes goalkeeper Felix Annan, attacker Augustine Okrah, key midfielder Latif Anabila and Mudasiru Salifu.
Konadu believes the injuries have denied his team some quality and wants the medical team to try their best to make available some of the injured players for the encounter.
“We only want to plead with our medical team to do their best to get some of our guys on the injury list back onto the field because we need everybody [for the game],” he said.
The former Ghana national team coach has promised his team will work harder and prepare feverishly for the clash with the Mauritanian champions.
“We will continue to prepare and train hard and make sure that we’ll go and make ourselves proud over there,” he concluded.
