Asante Kotoko Coach Maxwell Konadu has subtly blamed referee Daniel Laryea for his side’s failure to win against Berekum Chelsea in their league clash against Berekum Chelsea.
The Porcupine Warriors were on course to recording their first win of the season at the Berekum Golden City Park until they conceded a late equalizer.
Former striker Emmanuel Clottey who came on in the second half for Chelsea rifled in a free-kick from the edge of the box to restore parity for his side with few minutes to end proceedings.
The goal broke Kotoko hearts and left them feeling disappointed at letting the three points slip from their grips just moments to the end of the game.
Speaking in his post match interview, Maxwell Konadu complained about the conduct of the match referee in the latter stages although he failed to specifically mention where he was wrong.
“Its a good match. It was a very good and tough match. I said we came to win and that is what we wanted to do exactly. And had it not been because of err….he’s a referee I respect so much and I have a lot of respect for the referee but then last minute, I don’t know what came over him. But that is football, you accept it in football and move on,” Konadu quetched.
The result leaves both Asante Kotoko and Chelsea without a league win after 2 games.
