Aduana Stars head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin is satisfied with his side’s 1-1 stalemate with King Faisal on Sunday at the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman admitting the home side were better.
The two-time Premier League champions after taking the lead through Yahaya Mohammed were reduced to 10 men before King Faisal equalized through Frimpong Boateng.
An extraordinary goalkeeping by Joseph Addo ensured Aduana Stars left Techiman with a point.
Speaking to the media after the game, the former Asante Kotoko gaffer conceded his side were fortunate to have picked a point from the game.
“The standard was quite high. I’m satisfied with the point. I will accept the one point and go back to the drawing board.
“They (King Faisal) were ahead of us in terms of fitness. Because this was our first game. King Faisal played well. They raised their performance after we went a man down.
Fabin also spoke about the red card of Isaac Kwain.
“It was a red card, the referee had the call right. I told my player he let the team down. He made us suffer,” he added.
Aduana Stars are left with a game to play after Hearts of Oak’s inability to honour the match day one clash due to the fact that they had not done their COVID-19 test.
