Berekum Chelsea Head Coach Hesse Odamtten has explained how a tactical move won his side a point in their high-octane 1-1 draw in the Ghana Premier league clash on Match Week 2.
‘The Bibires’ hosted the Porcupine Warriors at the Golden City Park and were down by a goal early on in the first half.
A Kwame Poku strike put the visitors ahead in the 18th minute, with Chelsea being second best to their opponents in the first half exchanges.
Back from the break, Chelsea improved and threatened severally. Their improved display was reward in the dying embers of the encounter, when second half substitute Emmanuel Clottey rifled in a free-kick to equalize for his side.
Speaking in the aftermath of the game, Hesse Odamtten revealed that he had to make a tactical tweak to his formational lineup and that paid off.
He believes this impacted positively on his team hence their ability to secure a point from losing position.
“Yeah [the game has been worth it]. From the start I was playing 4-2-1-3 and we were down. In the second half, I realized that I had to change the tactics and play 4-4-2 using the wings and then it worked,” Coach Odamtten revealed.
Chelsea’s next game is a trip to Cape Coast to face Dwarfs.
The tactical Hesse Odamtten has noted that he will approach every game as it come. “Now we will plan match after match,” he revealed.
Berekum Chelsea have so far drawn their first two matches.
