The Ministry of Youth and Sports is set to provide financial support to local clubs, according to media reports.
The decision to offer this support comes in the wake of a government directive that all league matches should take place behind closed doors.
Initially, government had resolved to allow a venue accommodate fans up to 25% of its capacity.
But following later developments about the Covid-19 situation of the country, that arrangement was ditched; meaning fans were barred from accessing League centers during the season.
The development heaped a huge financial burden on the league clubs who had already been in dire circumstances due to the period of inactivity from March until November.
The clubs cried out to government for help and from emerging reports, it looks like they will get some sort of support financially.
Per reports reaching FMiG, each Ghana Premier League club stands to get between GH¢100,000- GH¢50,000.
