The Ghana Premier League has been graced by the presence of Africa’s all-time leading scorer at the FIFA World Cup, Asamoah Gyan.
The ‘Baby Jet’ as he’s affectionately known has signed a big money move to join Legon Cities FC.
His move seals a return to the local league since he last featured in it 2003 while on the books of Liberty Professionals.
The 10 goals he scored although he missed several matches due to trials abroad meant he finished as the third top scorer in the league that season.
Gyan left the league as a prodigy, now he returns as an established striker with a huge reputation in the game.
He is Ghana’s all-time top scorer with 51 goals in 107 appearances.
He’s netted 6 of those goals at the FIFA World Cup in 11 matches and 3 separate editions (first African to achieve this feat).
The last of those goals came against Germany at the 2014 edition making him the African with the most goals at football’s biggest showpiece.
