The Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority, Kojo Baah Agyemang has urged supporters of Asante Kotoko to support the management in their efforts to return the club to its old glory days.
Former Ghana FA presidential candidate, Nana Yaw Amponsah has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and he has gone on to name his management team.
The team has been busy with preparations to prepare the club for the upcoming season, with Asante Kotoko competing in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League, The FA Cup and the CAF Champions League.
Ahead of their African adventure, Kojo Baah Agyemang has called on fans to rally their support behind management in their bid to help the team realize their targets.
He said this during an interview with Kumasi-based radio stations, Silver 98.3 FM.
“There is a new management and if you observe what has been going on so far, it is obvious that they have something better in store for the club. Let us support the new direction.
“If we all support the club passionately, pray for the club and contribute money to help, the club can go farther in the Africa campaign and make the nation proud,” Kojo Baah Agyemang told Silver FM.
Asante Kotoko and regional rivals Ashantigold SC are the only Ghanaian representatives in Africa next season. While the former competes in the CAF Champions League, the latter fights for honors in the Confederation Cup and the NSA board chairman wants fans of both clubs to unflinchingly back their teams.
“AshGold and Kotoko supporters should rally behind their teams. They should support every arrangement of the management to help visit the lost and past glories,” he noted.
Meanwhile, the NSA has held a technical meeting with Green Grass Technology (Pitch managers of the various national stadia) about how the standard of pitches can be improved for the season ahead.
