The Spokesperson of Accra Hearts of Oak, Opare Addo has confirmed the likely appointment of one of Amankwah Mireku or Lawrence Adjah Tetteh to be part of the club’s coaching setup.
However, Opare has flatly denied such an appointment will be to serve directly as assistant coach of the first team.
Reports in the media indicate the newly appointed Technical Director cum Head Coach of Hearts of Oak, Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto is unwilling to work together with Edward Nii Odoom.
The reports go further to speculate that, Vaz Pinto would rather prefer working with either of Amankwah Mireku or Adja Tetteh as his assistant.
Speaking to Silver 98.3 FM, Opare Addo has rebuffed such claims.
“Pinto has never said, its just people who are putting words in his mouth, Pinto has never said that so nobody should believe that story,” Opare Addo revealed.
According to him, the club met the Old Players Association, where a discussion took place about getting an old player to play the role of a scout/coach for the club’s academy.
“We met AHOPA and told them that because we have U-15, U-17 and U-20 and we will be having scounts all over the various regions, we would prefer them to suggest names of some old players who can perform such roles. Its just that”, Opare Addo concluded.
