Supporters and stakeholders of Obuasi-based Ashantigold SC have been left stunned after the club’s Len Clay Sports stadium was ransacked by some unknown robbers.
In a video uploaded by local TV station Dunkwa TV, the robbers made away with the cables of the stadium’s floodlights as well as other valuables.
The news comes a big blow to the club who are busily readying themselves for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
Ashantigold SC will compete for domestic honors in the 2020-21 season and also in the CAF confederation Cup at the continental level.
It was expected that some home matches would have been played in the evening depending on the schedule and the latest development will dent any chances of this happening.
It is unknown yet the extent of the damage cost by these irresponsible robbers with nothing official from the club yet.
