The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah has urged Ghana’s two representatives in the CAF Inter-club competitions next season to do Ghana football proud.
Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold FC, both Ashanti Region based sides have been selected to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup respectively.
With recent performances of Ghanaian clubs not impressive in the last 10-15 years, the 4 available slots for clubs in the country for Africa has shrunk to just 2.
The Regional Minister wants the two sides to put up impressive performances to record positive results that will help in Ghana Football’s bid to regain the 2 lost slots.
He told this to Kumasi-based Pure FM, during an interview.
The Minister also seized the moment to canvas for support for the two clubs and also advised them on what to do to perform in the two competitions.
