Fast rising Ghana U20 star Mathew Cudjoe is inches away from joining Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities FC, FootballMadeInGhana.com can exclusively reveal.
Cudjoe, 17, spent last season on loan at Asante Kotoko from Young Apostles but will be spending this season with The Royals after the Porcupine Warriors failed to agree a deal with his handlers.
The wonder boy took the league by storm last season with his swift attacking prowess for the Porcupine Warriors, making him the fans favourite.
The Royals are expected to announce Cudjoe as their new player very soon as part of the deal to sign on former Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan.
The Ghana U20 star excelled underCcoach Maxwell Konadu in the cancelled season and instantly became a hot topic for discussion in the Ghana Premier League.
The club was interested in signing him on a permanent deal but failed to table a “good offer” to convince Anim Addo.
The youngster made six appearances for Kotoko and scored a goal.
He is best remembered for his impressive performance off the bench in K0toko’s 2-1 win over Hearts of Oak.
A fan favourite, Cudjoe have had trials with European giants Bayern Munich, which reportedly have expressed interest in the teenager’s signature once he turns 18.
