Former Manchester United and England midfielder Owen Hargreaves has spoken admirably about Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey, following his full debut for Arsenal on Thursday.
The Black Stars midfielder was handed his first start by Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta in Arsenal’s opening group game in the Europa League against Rapid Vienna.
Partey, a £45m deadline day signing caught the eye of many observers from far and near as for a long time in the game, his performance was the only highlight.
The Ghanaian midfielder oozed class, breaking up play with well-timed tackles, getting the ball forward with calm and accurate passes and being alert to any danger posed by the hosts.
As Partey played his part well in Arsenal clawing back the game to snatch the winner, Hargreaves who now serves as a pundit for BT Sport described his full debut as “one of the best debuts I have ever seen”.
