Elmina Sharks new captain Ishmael Hammond is ready to lead his outfit in the upcoming Ghana Premier League following his appointment as the skipper of the side.
The Elmina based side has named new leaders for the club going into this year’s Football season.
Hardworking defender Ishmael Hammond takes over the captainship role from long time serving captain Daniel Obeng Crentsil who has travelled abroad for trials.
Responding to his new role as club captain, Hammond said he and his teammates are ready to work hard and move the club forward.
“As a leader I will try my best to lead my team and write a good success story” I am ready as well as my teammates ”he told Wontumi Sports in Kumasi.
The 27 year old joined the club from fellow Premiership side Medeama SC in 2016 and has been instrumental in the success of the Club combining defensive duties with midfield battle.
Elmina Sharks are preparing for the 2020/21 season having seen the last season competitions cancelled due to various reasons.
The new season kicks off on November 13 with Sharks traveling to Cape Coast to face Ebusua Dwarfs.
