It didn’t take quite long for Thomas Partey to make his Arsenal intentions clear as the midfielder has made a big promise to Arsenal fans.
The former Atletico Madrid man moved from Spain to the Gunners in a move that has been greeted with much excitement worldwide.
And now his latest statement is expected to heighten the expectations of the Arsenal faithful who are itching for the club to rediscover their mojo.
Once a serious premier league contender and a Champions league regular, Arsenal have been pale shadows of themselves in recent times with over a 10 year premier league trophy drought and a close to a decade’s absence from Europe’s elite club competition.
The situation has put their status as a top club under strict scrutiny with a threat of missing out among the big boys also very visible.
Partey who excelled at his time in Spain has promised to deliver on the pitch to help return Mikel Arteta’s side back to where they belong.
Speaking to Arsenal TV, Partey said “When we were young we used to watch so many games, when they had the invincible season, 2004 they were so great, then is where they won the heart of so many people.
“This is a great club, its one of the biggest clubs in Europe and its a club that deserve to aspire for greater things,” he continued.
Thomas Partey indicated however, that this quest to return Arsenal back among the top teams won’t be a day’s job; indirectly telling fans to be patient as the playing body work their socks off on the pitch.
“It doesn’t happen in a day, we have to work hard, we have to make sure we are back to where we belong and make everyone feel happy,” Partey acknowledged.
