General Secretary of the ruling NPP, Nana Obiri Boahene, has appealed to Ghanaian players abroad willing to make a return to the domestic top-flight division lower in their demands so the clubs can afford to sign them.
Mr Boahene was speaking on the report linking former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan to Asante Kotoko.
Gyan has never hide his intentions of playing for the Porcupines Warriors before hanging up his boots, but according to reports the player is demanding $400,000 before signing for the local giants.
According to reports, the demands has driven the Porcupines off as they can’t afford what they termed as gargantuan.
The former Sunderland star is now a free agent since terminating his contract with Indian side NortEast United.
“I will appeal to Asamoah Gyan. Those players who have played abroad and have made money when they want to come home and play in the local league they should be a little bit considerate.
“The Brazilians have been doing it. Recently with Daniel Alves. They should also consider the entertainment aspect of it”, the politician told HappyFM in an interview.
But Gyan’s agent has since debunked the amount been qouted in the media insisting the qouted figure is untuth.
