Ahead of his side’s crucial encounter with Nigeria, Black Maidens head coach Baba Nuhu has expressed his satisfaction over the team’s preparation for the game.

The Female national U17 team will welcome Nigeria later this month for the first leg of the U-17 World Cup qualifiers as they seek to make their seventh straight appearance.

The winner over two legs qualifies to the tournament in India in February-March 2021 after it was moved from its original date of November 2020 due to the Coronavirus crisis.

Speaking on his side’s preparation ahead of the game, Coach Nuhu expressed his satisfactory with his team’s preparations after five weeks of intensive camping.

“It’s one of the tests matches we have lined up so far to access how the girls are faring.  We have been in camp for the past five weeks and taking them through a lot of things gradually,” Nuhu told Ghana FA’s website.

“What I was looking for in this match is how to take our opponent out when they come attacking, because the whole of this week, we have been looking out to see how best we can play for our team strategy.”

“My mind is not on the score line but they played very well in the first half and the second half I have to field other players as well so that in the absence of one or two players, I know how they can manage to play. I think am satisfied basically after spending five weeks in camp with this performance,” he concluded.
