Black Stars Head Coach, CK Akonnor has announced his squad for the international assignment with Mali next month.
The squad, 23 in total are set to feature in what will be Coach Akonnor’s first game in charge following his appointment early this year.
His debut had to delay after the CoronaVirus pandemic disrupted the world football calendar.
The squad is a perfect admixture of youth and experience with talent not in doubt.
Making the list are the usual faces Andre Ayew (captain) and his brother Jordan. Deputy captains Thomas Partey and Richard Ofori join the aforementioned duo while Ghanaian football prodigy and Ajax starlet Mohammed Kudus also makes the list.
There are new faces however, with Azam FC defender Yakubu Mohammed, FC Nordsjaelland attacker Kamal Deen Nurudeen, French-born Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku and Israeli based Eugene Ansah making that list.
The list of new players called up is made complete with the inclusion of Amiens midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey.
The Black Stars will face Mali on October 9 in a friendly encounter as they prepare for next month’s AFCON qualifying double header against Sudan.
