Asante Kotoko and AshGold are set to be handed massive financial boost as the government of Ghana is set to commit an amount of $350k for the CAF club campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors and The Miners will be representing Ghana in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup competitions respectively.
The two clubs officially announced their participation in the competition next year after they were handed the opportunity by the Ghana FA following the cancellation of the league due to COVID-19.
As was previously done by the government, Asante Kotoko will be given $200k while AshGold get $150k for their respective campaigns.
This was confirmed by the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Professor Twumasi.
“Government will give Asante Kotoko and AshGold $200,000 and $150,000 respectively for their qualifications to play in the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup competitions,” he told Sikka FM.
Last season, the two clubs were given the same amount of money to participate in the two competitions after the Sports Minister disclosed that government will support them financially.
