Ghanaian international Mutawakil Seidu has picked Richard Kingson as his all time best goalkeeper ahead of Gianlugi Buffon and Manuel Nueur.
Seidu who is currently plying his trade in Nigeria for Enugu Rangers thinks the former Black Stars goalkeeper stands tall among the rest of the goalkeepers due to what he has done for club and national level.
According to him, growing up in Africa and reaching the height Kingson reached is very difficult hence his decision to rate the former Birmingham City goalkeeper higher.
“My all time best goalkeeper? I will choose Richard Kingson” he told Awake Tv in an interview.
“He did very well with the National team and for a black goalkeeper to play outside for so many years I think he bas done well”
“With Black Stars in 2006 and 2010 world cup, it’s is good for a Black goalkeeper. We must encourage our own and by fact it will be difficult for the Europeans to play in Africa”.
“They have all the facilities and environment, that’s is why Manuel Nueur is still playing. For me Richard Kingson is my all time best goalkeeper.”
Mutawakil has previously featured for Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak and Dreams.
He represented Ghana at the FIFA U20 World Cup at New Zealand 2005.
