Italian-born Ghanaian player Emmanuel Gyasi says he is keen on playing for the Black Stars of Ghana in the future.
Gyasi, has become popular after his instrumental role in helping Spezia secure a historic first ever qualification to the Italian top flight.
The player holds an Italian passport as he was born to his Ghanaian parents in the Sicilian city of Palermo. He also possesses a Ghanaian passport meaning he is eligible to feature for both Italy and Ghana.
Convinced of where his future lies, Gyasi has made it no secret that he fancies wearing the Ghana national team colors.
In an interview with local station Asempa FM, the 26-year-old said “My dream is to play for the senior national team [Black Stars]. I believe hardwork and determination can get me into the Black Stars”.
Gyasi has also mentioned the duo of Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan as his footballing role models; “I have two mentors, Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan,” he told Asempa FM.
Gyasi scored 10 goals and assisted 6 more in 39 appearances as Spezia proved succesful in their pursuit of a ticket to enter the Italian top flight.
