Restrictions slapped on Ghana Football as a result of the CoronaVirus outbreak in the country are set to be eased as the President, H.E. Nana Akuffo-Addo addresses the nation tonight.
The president is set to deliver update number 15 on measures his government has taken against the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Ghana Football has been suspended since March; a development that led to the pausing of the 2019-20 season.
Subsequently, after hopes of football resuming were met with disappointment in the President’s previous addresses, the Ghana FA took a decision to cancel the suspended season entirely.
It was widely expected that the President would ease all restrictions for football’s imminent return in his last address.
However, President Akuffo-Addo only allowed for the National Male and Female Juvenile sides to resume camping for their respective CAF/FIFA assignments.
The Ghana FA sent a draft document to its members concerning a return to football amid COVID-19 last week.
This signals that perhaps there have been assurances from government that the road will be cleared for football to return and an announcement is expected when the President addresses the nation tonight.
