The Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Club Licensing Board, Dr Kwame Baah Nuakoh, has indicated that it is proper for his outfit to act with some level of flexibility to help deal with some of the abnormalities that COVID-19 has brought on Ghana football.

The GFA Executive Council cancelled the 2019/20 football season due to the negative impact of the Coronavirus.

Fortunately, they have announced the start of the new season. The new season is expected to begin on October with some adjustments to cater for the pandemic.

In an interview on the Joy Sports Link on Saturday, Dr Nuakoh has noted that the board also have to make some changes to their regulations.

“In terms of club licensing, we have to admit that we cannot carry out the regulations as it is written. If you look at the English FA, what they did is that they looked at the Premier League rule book and when they realized that COVID had taken a toll on several factors, they amended the regulations. For the season, they had two rule books,” he told Nathaniel Attoh.

“The club licensing board should not sit back and assume that because the FA has not changed anything in congress so we are still applying the regulations we have. We need to be flexible enough to go with the current times.”
