Former Ghana and Bayern Munich defender Samuel Osei Kuffour is being seriously considered for the Chief Executive Officer position at Asante Kotoko, according to local media reports.
Asante Kotoko are on the hunt for a CEO as they begin a new stage in their quest to get to the top of African Football again.
A new board was inaugurated few months ago by the Manhyia Palace and they took the bold step to collapse the George Amoako led management.
The Kwame Kyei led board is looking for a replacement and it was widely expected that former Ghana FA Presidential aspirant Nana Yaw Amponsah will be appointed.
However, it looks like he has been swerved, with reports of the Bayern Munich legend Osei Kuffour’s imminent appointment gathering momentum.
Osei Kuffour was previously denied an opportunity to serve Kotoko by Otumfour after he broke a code by indirectly announcing his appointment before he was confirmed.
The development irked the club’s life patron and owner, the Asantehene who subsequently declined endorsing his appointment.
It remains to be seen if this time around he will be endorsed by Manhyia after he has been reportedly chosen by the board.
FMIG will keep close tabs on developments and update our readers subsequently.
