Former Ghana attacker Prince Tagoe has named former Black Stars captains Abedi Pele and Stephen Appiah as his top two all-time best Ghanaian footballers.
Tagoe acknowledges the greatness of Abedi Pele, an iconic figure in Africa and World Fotball; and says he grew up idolizing the former Marseille player.
The 2005 Ghana Premier league top scorer with Hearts of Oak disclosed this in an interview with Accra-based Joy FM.
Known fondly in his playing days as the ‘Prince of Goals’, Tagoe also mentioned former Juventus midfielder Stephen Appiah as his next favorite Ghanaian player after Abedi Pele.
Abedi Pele till date remains the last Ghanaian to win the African Player of the Year Award. He is a three time recipient of Africa’s biggest individual prize in football and is often regarded as the greatest player to emerge from Ghana.
Stephen Appiah on the other hand also made history by becoming the first footballer to captain Ghana to FIFA World Cup qualification.
