Former Ghana striker Prince Tagoe has tipped the current captain of the team, Andre Ayew to be the man to break Ghana’s trophy curse.
The Black Stars have failed to annex a major trophy since winning the AFCON 1982 tournament. The senior national football team has come close on some occasions in the past; but eventually end up getting disappointed and empty-handed.
In the Africa Cup of Nations finals, Ghana lost out to Ivory Coast in 1992 and 2015 while also getting beat by Egypt in 2010.
Amid the heartaches and frustrations, a buoyant Tagoe has tipped Andre Ayew to lead Ghana to end this over 30 year wait for the ultimate.
Tagoe in an interview with Joy FM says it will be little surprise to him when he sees Andre Ayew- who he thinks is special– become the first man to lift a trophy as Ghana captain since 1982.
