Ashantigold are set to miss out on the service of their skipper Shafiu Mumuni after the striker turned down a contract extension offer at Obuasi Ashanti Gold SC.
Shafiu’s contract with the Obausi based club ended in May this year and the player has refused to renew the contract despite a lot of effort from the club.
The player was in Romania earlier this year to have a trial session with CFR Cluj but couldn’t join the club due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Insiders say Ashanti Gold SC have tried to extend the contract of Shafiu Mumuni but all their efforts have proved futile
The Black Stars B striker has been heavily link with a move to Asante Kotoko and the Porcupines are doing everything to secure his signature ahead of the 2020/2021 season.
He scored 7 goals for Ashantigold in the last season’s CAF Confederations Cup.
