Enyimba FC striker, Abass Mohammed has downplayed winning the Ballon d’Or or any top individual football prize, insisting money and living a better life after football is the most important thing.
Abass who featured for Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC in the local terrain says he will choose money than platubg at the top level, winning an award like the Ballon d’Or and ending up with nothing after hanging his boots.
“From where we are coming from, our culture and everything, I will choose to live a better life after football than to be playing at the top level or win a Ballon D’or and chew sticks at the end of my career, money is everything.
Abass also touched on his time with Asante kotoko insisting he was never a failure.
“No, I was not a failure. I performed creditably well at where I was before joining Kotoko. It’s not easy to wear Kotoko’s jersey, if I had not performed well at my previous club I wouldn’t have had that chance. Certain things just didn’t go on well but I was never a failure and I will never side with those who will say that,”
“Whoever will say I flopped should ask himself that, did I play even five continues games, the answer is no because of injuries, after my recovery I was not given the chance. What I know is that, after a player had recovered from his injury you give him time but I was not even allowed to train,” he added
