Former Ghanaian-born Dutch international George Boateng has offered consoling words and a piece of advice to Chelsea and Ghana defender Baba Rahman.
The left back has had injuries trouble his career development ever since his high profile move to Chelsea from German side FC Augsburg some 5 years ago.
Baba Rahman suffered a career threatening knee injury while playing for Ghana at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and his recovery has been plagued with further setbacks.
Since then, the now 25 year old has sat out competitive game action for more than 800 days. He’s had unsuccessful loan spells at Schalke 04, Stade Reims and Real Mallorca throughout this period and is still contracted to Chelsea.
With his fitness levels very much okay and a likely return to Chelsea in the offing, Boateng who played for English sides Aston Villa, Middlesborough and Hull City has urged Baba Rahman to not give up.
Though admitting it won’t be easy, George Boateng currently a coach at Aston Villa’s youth side says the payer should be keen on proving his worth and fighting for his place back in the Chelsea setup.
He however wants Baba Rahman to do this patiently.
George Boateng said this in an interview on Citi TV’s The Tracker show.

Baba Rahman is a former player of Dreams FC and Asante Kotoko. He’s also played for German club Greuther Furth.
