Former Ghana U-17 female team coach, Evans Adotey has lauded Youth Employment Agency’s decision to enroll 500 players from the women’s league unto its Youth in Sports Program.
The program which is an initiative of the Government of Ghana through the YEA, will pay players in the Women’s top flight division monthly allowances for the next six months beginning from July 2020.
The Executive Council took the decision on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, to give all 500 slots allocated to the GFA to Women’s football.
“Youth Employment Agency has done well because it will help women’s football. The burden on club owners will be reduced because in Ghana we don’t earn nothing from women’s team,” Evans Adotey told West FM.
“Some owners of women’s team in Ghana deserve praises, they are doing great job despite all the huge cost, they are still doing their best to protect the ladies especially in this time of COVID-19,” he added.
The league was cancelled due to the increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in Ghana.
