Former Ghana striker Nana Arhin Duah has revealed that he was financially compensated for not been selected among the pool of players for Ghana’s maiden world cup appearance despite being part of the contributors during the qualifiers.
The Black Stars squad during that era made history by qualifying Ghana to a first ever FIFA World Cup since the tournament’s inception in 1930.
The qualification process saw more than 50 players take part and provided a selection headache sort of for the Technical team in selecting the final squad for the tournament proper.
Arhin Duah who featured in the qualifying phase but failed to make the cut for the tournament has offered an explanation on why he was omitted.
In an interview with Revolt GH TV, the player who shared his disappointment at missing the tournament has also revealed that he was compensated with a sum of $1000 for is part played during the qualification stage.
