Former Ghana striker Nana Arhin Duah has finally broken his silence on what influenced his high profile move to Asante Kotoko.

Arhin Duah, in one of the most talked about transfer happenings in Ghana’s football history, switched camp from Obuasi based Goldfields (now AshantiGold SC) to regional rivals Asante Kotoko some 20 years ago.

It was at a time when Goldfields were high flying and had made the CAF Champions League final some 3 years before the move. Between that period, the club also won the league title 3 times between 1993 and 2000.

Currently domiciled in the US, Nana Arhin Duah has shared the story of his move away from Goldfields to Asante Kotoko.

According to him, he had idolized Kotoko as a boy and saw playing for them as a privilege. However, he notes that the urge to become famous highly influenced his move in 2000.

After 8 years, Arhin Duah brought his Kotoko career to an end and returned to Obuasi Goldfields although he lasted barely a year.

Arhin Duah also played 10 times for Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, netting 3 times.
