Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Emmanuel Nettey has made a bold claim that he does not believe Black magic otherwise known as ‘juju’ plays any role in football.

Talks about players from this part of the world using juju is not new but the midfield maestro insists he has never relied on it.

Opinions have been widely divided on this subject with some old players confirming it exists and even using it while other have debunked such assertions.

Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb’s Sports Check program, Nettey who revealed his strong Christian background dispelled the notion that Black Magic helps footballers perform better.

“I don’t believe that because he who lives in me is greater than what you are bringing. I have always relied on God. From a kid growing up, I have always believed in God and nothing is going to change. Whatever you bring my way, I have something to encounter you with and you’ll go down”, he said.
