Atlético Madrid have identified Mallorca midfielder Iddrisu Baba as a possible replacement for Thomas Partey.

Parety has been linked with a move away from Los Rojiblancos this summer with a host of clubs reportedly jostling for his signature.

English Premier League side Arsenal are believed to be leading the chase with Bayern Munich also closely monitoring the situation.

Partey’s current Atlético Madrid contract runs until 2023 and includes a £42 million buyout clause.

If a move does transpire this summer, Diego Simeone is prepared to reinvest the money to acquire his compatriot Iddrisu Baba as a long term replacement.

Baba has established himself as a key cog for Mallorca in the Spanish top-flight division this season.

His potential arrival in Madrid would soften the blow of losing Partey, who has rapidly established himself as one of the top holding midfielders in Europe.
