Bankroller and President of King Faisal FC, Alhaji Grusah, has cushioned Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold against playing in the next season’s CAF inter-club competition.
The Ghana Football Association brought an end to the football season due to the coronavirus after a long meeting between the Executive council members.
No teams were relegated in the Premier League but Asante Kotoko were selected to play in the CAF Champions League and AshantiGold will play in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The two teams featured in the respective competitions last season but were knocked out.
According outspoken football administrator, the two team are not prepared for the competition and will likely repeat suffer elimination in the preliminary stages.
“Allow them to go and disgrace themselves. They represented the country during the era of the Normalization committee but brought nothing better but shame to the country because of their shambolic performances,” he stated on Ashh FM.
“No one can stop them from participating once they have their money but they should be mindful especially with their gate proceeds, some management members capitalize on that to dupe the club,” he advised.
Grusah despite discouraging the two clubs from participating also admitted the two slot cannot be wasted.
“Nonetheless, I think we cannot waste our slot hence they can keep on trying. It may be better for them someday”, he concluded
