Aduana Stars striker Bright Adjei has advised Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold SC to shun participating in Africa on the ticket of the country.
The two clubs emerged beneficiaries of an GFA decision to declare the 2019-20 Football season cancelled with all existing records expunged.
Bright Adjei, in an interview on local radio station Alpha Radio has described the decision to scrap the league as worrying.
Adjei claims Aduana Stars would have won the league but for the cancellation.
“Looking at the performance of we Aduana Stars players it clearly shows that we were ready to do something for the club,” he told Alpha Radio.
“The FA deciding to cancel the league is a worry to us because we wanted to win the league and represent Ghana in Africa championships League . So hearing the news was bad,” he remarked.
On news that Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold are to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League and the CAF confederation cup respectively, Bright Adjei has advised both clubs to abort the African adventure.
“Going almost four(4) months without football is bad for any player and the team as a whole . Individual training is different from team training. I will advise Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold not to partake in the African Inter Club competitions,” he noted.
“It will be prudent for both clubs to prepare for the local league instead of playing in Africa,” he concluded.
