Former Ghana Premier League goal king Kofi Owusu says he turned down a chance to join Asante Kotoko in favor of a move abroad.
Owusu won the league’s top scorer award in 2015 and had several offers coming his way.
In the end he joined Egyptian side Aswan FC although his time there was shortlived.
He subsequently returned to Ghana and has since played for AshantiGold SC and has now rejoined Berekum Chelsea.
In an interview with Agyenkwa FM, Kofi Owusu has disclosed that he had to turn down Kotoko before his move to Aswan because the latter offered a better deal.
“Kotoko were desperately looking for me after I won the goalking but I had a better deal in Egypt,” he told Agyenkwa FM.
“Alhaji Abu Lamin called me at the local black stars camp through then
Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong.
“Rather unfortunately for Kotoko, I got an offer from Egypt which led me turning down their offer.
