Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu has described as too early and improper, suggestions that his side should represent in Africa in the event the 2019-20 season is annulled.
The football season has been suspended due to the Corona Virus pandemic with the Ghana FA under pressure to deliver a decision on the way forward by June 30.
There have been suggestions from some connoisseurs of the game that the season be scrapped and Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold SC selected to represent Ghana in the CAF inter club competitions by virtue of being last year’s participants.
However, Maxwell Konadu believes the focus should be on how we manage the COVID-19 situation and not who gets to represent in Africa.
“Its early days yet, we haven’t gotten there yet,” he told Accra based Happy FM.
“You don’t jump to 10 when we are not even at 1, 2,3,4,5…It won’t help. We have the materials. Last season, Kotoko went to Africa
“But we haven’t gotten there yet. A lot of decisions need to be made before we talk about that…Let’s do the right things first,” he noted.
