Forgotten Ghanaian defender Samuel Inkoom says he is not giving up on a return to the top level of the game after encountering a difficult period in his career.
Inkoom was once a regular feature in the Black Stars and was a popular name in Ghanaian football discussions across board.
He belongs to the select squad of Ghanaian Youth that became the first and only African side to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2009. He also featured for Ghana at the memorable 2010 FIFA World cup where the Black Stars made the quarter final stage.
However, Inkoom’s career progression has nosedived in the last 7-8 years.
Now playing for Georgian side, FC Samtredia, Inkoom is keen to bounce back and believes making this a reality depends on him.
“I will say everything it depends on me,” he told Joy Sports.
“How I think, how I do certain things, I fi am taking good care of myself, if I am training hard, If I stay focused I don’t think that I cannot get to the top again” he concluded.
Seen mostly as a journeyman, the former Kotoko right back has played in ten different countries across three continents in his over 10 year career.
