Despite getting a huge money from the transfer of Joseph Paintsil, Tema Youth bankroller Wilfred Osei Kwaku ‘Palmer’ has chosen Thomas Partey as the club’s biggest product.
Thomas Partey who left Tema Youth’s reserve side to Spain has now become an integral member of Atletico Madrid.
Joseph Painstil’s move from Ferencvaros to Belgium side KCR Genk fetched Tema Youth a transfer fee of €3m, a fee the club had never gotten before.
On the eve of the club’s 20 years anniversary, Osei Palmer told Joy Sports that Thomas Partey is the biggest product of the club in terms of progression.
“If you check the numbers, it is an undeniable fact that Joseph Paintsil has given us our biggest transfer, but judging from those who have progressed to the highest level, I will say Thomas Partey has been excellent.”
“This was a player at a given point coming from the reserve bench of Tema Youth.
“Until we got the premiership where he could have started, Thomas at Division One was a reserve player so, if you want to more or less do a fair assessment of what he has been able to do in terms of progression after Tema Youth, it is Partey who has been one of the best if not the best,” he added.
The Tema based club is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and have lined up a series of activities to be rolled out.
