It was the turn of the Tema General Hospital on Wednesday as the Abu Group Foundation; a non-governmental organization together with Tema United FC donated several items to the Tema General Hospital in the fight against COVID-19.
The NGO which has been partnering the Division Two side targeted the Children’s Ward of the Tema General Hospital where several food items as well as PPEs were given to the patients.
The hospital was not left out as the team handed over hundreds of face shields, nose masks, washing powder and hand sanitizers.
Earlier on Monday, the foundation and the young club collaborated to provide food for street children and the needy in Tema and its environs.
The exercise was to put smiles on the faces of the destitute in the Team Municipality amidst the Islamic celebration of Eid Ul Fitr to mark the end of Ramadan.
Despite the festival being celebrated on the quiet and in isolation due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the lower tier club still found it significant to provide food for the kids on the streets and the destitute.
Hundreds of children as well as the aged benefited from the donation of food and drinks which were shared by players of Tema United and staff of Abu Group Foundation.
The foundation together with the club then moved a step further to distribute face shields, nose masks and other personal protective equipment to the Tema General Hospital.
About a month ago, the foundation together with the club donated food items with PPEs to the people of Tema Community 1, site 1, 2, 5 and 15, as well as Community 4 and 5.
The recent activities of the foundation, led by founder of Tema United FC, Joe Abu Salam, has been applauded by many for the wonderful support packages they have offered the needy in the fight against COVID-19.
