There is the popular saying of “Never forget where you came from, but always remember where you’re going”.
Black Stars midfielder Wakaso Mubarak has lived that nicely by doing an exceptional throw-back of his early days in Europe.
The 29 year old has spent close to 13 years in mainstream Europe before transferring to Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning.
Wakaso started out with AshGold and after a season secured a move to Elche. He cut his European umbilical chord there and subsequently played for other Spanish clubs like Villarreal, Granada, Espanyol, Deportivo Alaves and Las Palmas.
In between his Spanish adventure, Wakaso also played for Rubin Kazan (Russia), Celtic (Scotland), and Panathanaikos (Greece).
The midfielder who is currently partaking in the Ramadan took to Twitter to share how his footballing journey started and how difficult he has been just to encourage young footballers
He posted, My story in Europe started here donβt ever thinkβs the journey was easy I went through a lot to get to this level and still fighting to get to the highest level πI will π be there INSHAALLAH ππΎ #thankstoALLAH #ALLAHisthereason #ALLAHISGREAT πππΏππΎ.
