Former Ghana FA executive committee member, Kojo Yankah says a decision on the 2019-20 Ghana football season should be left for the clubs to decide.
All football competitions in Ghana have been suspended following the CoronaVirus Pandemic.
The decision to suspend the domestic season by the GFA, was in conformity to government’s directive to ban all social gatherings as part of measures to help curb the spread of the viral disease.
With the CoronaVirus case count in Ghana hitting beyond 3000 and a growing uncertainty about when situations will improve, a section of the football fraternity have urged the GFA to cancel the suspended season and begin planning for the next.
Kojo Yankah believes this is a decision that should be taken by the clubs and not forced on them.
“Nobody should take decisions for first division and premier league clubs” he told Asempa Sports in an interview.
“The clubs should meet the FA, and deliberate on whether the league should be played or cancelled” he continued.
The former Western Region FA Chairman, wants the clubs to vote to decide the fate of the 2019-20 season.
“The clubs should vote and majority should carry the vote whether we resume or cancel the league”.
“But those of us who don’t play in the premier league or division one league cannot decide for them”, he concluded.
