Chief Executive Officer of Bechem United, Nana Kwesi Darlyn has hailed the Kurt Okraku led Ghana FA administration for significantly improving the refereeing sector ever since taking charge of the football governing body.
Kurt Okraku won astoundingly in last year’s GFA presidential elections after campaigning with a message to ignite passion and create wealth for the local football industry.
In analysing the Ghana FA, former Executive committee member Wilfred Osei ‘Palmer’ had suggested that nothing had changed since the new leadership took charge.
However, Nana Kwesi Darlyn disagrees with his claims and insists it’s generally been so far so good for Kurt’s administration.
In breaking down where there has been a massive improvement, Nana Kwesi Darlyn singled out the aspect of refereeing.
He noted that referees are now very fair in officiating matches, something which came to light during the currently suspended Ghana Premier league campaign.
He told Asempa FM “Number 1… the significant change I have witnessed (under this administration ) is referees”
“Now if you observe a referee make a mistake, it looks genuine and not because he has been influenced (to do so)”
Nana Kwesi Darlyn also spoke about improvements in the judicial sector.
He said “the previous dark days have changed significantly…currently they have expedited the judicial process so cases are adjudicated on time unlike the old regime, where someone could influence the process”.
Despite acknowledging that the early signs are promising, Nana Kwesi Darlyn says much more can be done to return Ghana football to its old glory days.
