Ghana and TSG Hoffenheim defender Kassim Nuhu has rescued several hundreds of people, mainly within the Ashanti Region with several food items in the fight against COVID-19 after the government intensified the lock down in those communities.

With Kumasi as one of the areas suffering the lock down due to the COVID-19 outbreak, several residents have been hit with the challenge of what to eat and where to even find them.

But the Hoffenheim defender who is on loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf, through his local manager Alhassan Seidu sent several food items including rice, oil, water, tin tomatoes, sardines and hand sanitizers.

With 250 bags of rice for distribution, every household in his local area, Anomagye where Kassim was born had a fair share of the distribution.

Some of the items were sent to Offinso where he had many of his relative residing with Suame and Aboabo also getting their fair share of the items.

Kassim also gave some boxes of hand sanitizers, bags of rice and some other items to the Regional Football Association in Kumasi to assist them in the fight against COVID-19.

The Black Stars defender who is noted for his benevolence intensified his charity activities, ensuring several other communities become beneficiaries of his kindness due to the compelling nature of the current situation.

Beneficiaries of the donation by the former Young Boys defender were mainly the aged and women.

Kassim’s donation comes after the Ghana government extended the lock down in some selected area by one more week due to the rising nature of the number of COVID-19 cases reported.

Speaking to footballmadeinghana.com after the distribution of the items on Monday, Alhassan Seidu said the Kassim Adam Foundation was touched by the challenging times that many people find themselves, hence their gesture.

“We’re in a challenging moment and it calls for such drastic actions. We can’t feed everyone but we can do something for some people,” he said.

“We couldn’t give everyone so we just targeted some areas like Suame, Anomagye, Offinso and Aboabo. These are areas where Kassim spent some time while he was young.

“We believe the little we have provided can help alleviate the hardship we’re currently facing. May God help us in this fight,” he added.

The roly-poly defender has usually been extending a benevolent hand to many people usually in the month of Ramadan, and has been supporting several orphanages as well.
